Entrepreneurship is my passion. Over the last 30 years I’ve owned and operated businesses across roughly 15 industries. Some worked, some taught me expensive lessons, and all of them taught me the same thing: a business is only worth what it can do without the person who built it.

Last year I sold my dumpster rental company. I’d built it into a real, profitable operation — and during due diligence I still got caught off guard by how much of it lived in my head and ran through my phone. The deal got done, but it was harder than it needed to be. That’s why I started Groundwork Studio.
